Lilly, a long-haired miniature dachshund, came to me as an unexpected “gift” when I was 19 years old. She was only a few weeks old and barely bigger than the palm of my hand. At the time I was in business school and working full time to survive, but I fell in love instantly. During the time I was attending and completing business school, my dad, my grandmother, and I collectively took care of Lilly. Lilly has been on numerous trips, vacations, and additional whereabouts with me. During the last 15 years, I have rescued and adopted EIGHT other dogs and lived in several different places with Lilly accepting and loving all her doggie “siblings”. Lilly, along with Lala and Peter, are all that remains of my original pack of nine. Six have passed over the years and are dearly missed. July 3rd , 2022, Lilly celebrated her “sweet 16”! She received a red “car” – just like her mommy’s! Lilly has done and continues to do remarkably well. After enduring some difficult times including emergency surgery from IVDD, she still can do everything she wants. She is loved and cared for with every ounce of love in my heart and continues to be the absolute love of my LIFE.
