Con and Roxanne Moreschi and their dog Jax. It was in the year 2014 when two sisters and their dogs, a Shih Tzu and a Bichon got friendly with each other and produced “teddy bear” puppies. One was still available and when asked if interested, we said yes. I never had a dog, although my husband had several. A picture was sent to us in August. I originally wanted a white dog, but upon seeing the cute black and brown puppy, I fell in love immediately. We went to Uniontown that night and when he was put in my arms, I knew he would be going home with us. We had a blanket to wrap him in and was given his favorite toy, a little grey poodle.
Off we went to Pets Supplies Plus and spent too much money on a crate, food, bed, and toys. At bedtime he was put in his crate and began to cry. He was missing his mom. I asked my husband if he could sleep with us for the night. He did, and he has slept with us ever since. We named him Jax after the main character in the series Sons of Anarchy. As he grew older, he lost his black and brown coloring and I now have the white dog I wanted.
Jax has gained some notoriety over the years. As a puppy, his picture was in a Pet Edition issue in the Valley Independent newspaper. During a “pup night” at PNC Park, sponsored by Rachel Ray, Jax had his picture taken in his Pirate Shirt which she aired on her television show. A few years later, my daughter took his picture on the bay at Stone Harbor, New Jersey. They wanted his picture for their annual Vacation Guide on the dog information page. Thousands of copies were in circulation for the town vacationers featuring his picture.
Every morning he goes to the Monessen City Park walking trail and meets his friends Twinkie, Louie, Casey, Harley, Buddy, and Bella. He loves his neighbors Benelli and Tootsie too! A little white snowball is his favorite toy. He got it on his first Christmas. He chews it every day, especially after he eats. It has a calming effect on him. It goes everywhere with us. Jax has been to the ocean and the mountains chasing squirrels, chipmunks, frogs, and birds. Riding in the car everywhere is another great joy for him. He has been a total pleasure in our lives, and we spoil him; but he deserves it. He is my heart and soul. I never knew a dog’s love before, but I do now!
