PET SPOTLIGHT OF AUGUST

Molly and Dan Harkins

Molly came into my life at the most fitting time. I was at my job and a co-worker was showing pictures of a dog to other people at work. It was a picture of a French/English Bulldog mix. Molly was a female and the runt of the litter. She was nine months old, and it seemed as if she was unwanted. I had to have her.  I met with the owner at a Sheetz in Monongahela and offered to buy her, but the owner just wanted her to have a good home.  It had been three months since my wife had passed and Molly certainly filled the void for me.  She became my bosom buddy. We go for morning walks at 4:00 am and then again at 9:00 am at Cedar Creek, often meeting Randy walking his dog Albany.  At night she sleeps on my shoulder with her face near mine but for some unknown reason turns during the night with her back side facing me in the morning. Love conquers all! We enjoy breakfast together at which time I give her a milk bone and dental stick. She is smart and strong as an ox. She keeps me company and I would not/could not give her up for the world. Look at her picture and you will discover my meaning.
