Channing Tatum and Carissa
My aunt had been asking me for months to go to various rescues and shelters to look at dogs. I had a thought it was for me and not her. I lived alone, worked many hours, and had no idea I loved dogs or animals as much as I did, so I thought a dog was out of the question. On Christmas Eve, my little cousin and God daughter told me she had a special gift. I just knew it had to be a puppy but to my surprise it was not. How disappointing! My aunt said you can’t adopt for another person, but she did try and still wanted me to find a dog. In February she found puppies and said we were going for a whole litter in North Carolina. Believing my uncle would never agree, I was quite surprised when he did and the journey to North Carolina began to collect the puppies, Channing, Nixie, and Bauer. Channing changed my life so much for the better. My love for animals deepened because of him. He helped me find my passion and purpose working with animals, my happy. A little about Channing; he is a German Shephard Lab mix and will be celebrating his seventh birthday in December. Channing is a very social guy; he loves tagging along everywhere with his mom including work at the vet’s office where he thinks he is the door greeter. His favorite pastime is swimming and all things related to water excepts baths. He can be very vocal about what he wants and displays it by communicating with his loudly voiced howls He earned the title of best vocal performance at the Paws in the Park contest and has been proudly owning that title ever since.
