Pet Spotlight of the Month – June

Ashley Wagstaff and Valentino “Tino”

“I never in a million years thought I’d ever have my very own dog…. But here we are Valentino and me! Valentino is a full breed boxer who just turned 6 months old, I call him “Tino” for short.  Tino came into my life at a time when I really needed him. I happened to be on social media one day and I noticed a friend had tagged a breeder in a post about her new pup. So of course, I start looking at the pups and I see him, “the really chill quiet pup” the breeder had commented about him. Well, I need to meet this guy. The next day I went to meet him thinking I probably wouldn’t end up taking him. I needed to really think it out. Well needless to say, I met him and well, I wasn’t leaving without him that night. I took Tino home that night, which happened to be the evening before Valentine’s Day. I told him he would forever be my Valentine hence the name Valentino!

He spent the first week going to work with me every day at Kristen’s Beauty Salon where he won the hearts of everyone there! Tino just loves everyone whether you have two legs or four he wants to be your friend. He enjoys walks around the neighborhood and walking to Kristen’s Salon to say hi to all the ladies. He’s a nosey little guy who has to know what’s going on at all times.

He hasn’t met a ball yet; he didn’t like to chew or a toy he didn’t like to squeak. Tino is obsessed with chicken and loves a good pup cup! He’s made so many dog friends and loves to go on play dates. He’s totally fearless, which is good and bad at times. I love watching him experience everything for the first time, all the sights and sounds. He is so curious and learns most things quickly.

Everywhere we go people stop him and tell him how beautiful he is, and how soft he feels. I think he knows it but doesn’t let it go to his little pup head. He’s just a loving pup with lots of kisses to give.

I really got lucky finding Tino. I needed him, and he needed me. Truly was meant to be. He’s definitely a spoiled boy and I’m a total helicopter mom because I just want to protect him. I’m still learning the dog mom stuff and Tino seems to be pretty patient with me, But I think it’s all going to work out as we thru this thing called life together. “
