

As of this writing, eight senior citizens grants have been given separately in the amount of $200.00 each with three pending. Eight emergency grants have also been distributed individually in the amount of $500.00 each. To qualify for the Emergency Vet Care Grant, the following must apply,
- Accident by auto vehicle or physical harm by an accident
- Emergency room visit due to ingestion of a foreign substance
- Owner has incurred a fire or flood and needs pet food or everyday items that were lost due to the occurrence
Senior Citizen Grant gives monetary assistance to senior citizens (60 years and older) residing in the Mon Valley area who have or are caring for a pet needing assistance with basic veterinary care. Monies are distributed to the treating veterinarian in both grants. For more information, go to our website, monvalleypaws.com.
Pet food collected for the year so far totals 7,181 pounds. The Free Store and the Family Center are two sites offering food items collected by Mon Valley Paws for your pets. If you wish to donate any food, treats or other pet necessities, a donation bin is located at the Belle Vernon Pet Supplies Plus Store.
