Pet Spotlight of the Month – March

All But Forgotten & Leo

“Leo came to All But Forgotten (ABF) in mid-January after concerned citizens called local police regarding Leo’s condition. Leo’s tail bone protruded through the skin, likely due to improper cropping. Apparently it was left untreated for some time resulting in necrotic tissue surrounding the tail wound. Additionally, Leo had a wound on his ear. Immediate and emergency veterinary care was preformed upon arrival at ABF. His tail needed a complete debridement, then corrective surgery to realign the tailbone, creating a small “nub” for his tail. His ear was also necrotic and had a sizeable amount of tissue damage ensuing the removal of a portion of his ear.

Despite Leo’s challenges, he remained a happy, friendly and outgoing boy. During his time at ABF, he loved playing with a spikey ball and leaning on people for rubs and petting. His resilience and strength are inspiring. Even when he was in pain-he was so happy. Leo was recently adopted to a wonderful family, where he gained a rottweiler sister! They are already the best of friends. They enjoy playing outside together and lounging on the couch right next to each other. Situations like Leo’s are why we do what we do at ABF. Getting him into the perfect home, watching him thrive after getting him the help he needed and deserved, is such a rewarding feeling. We are so grateful to continue to assist the abused, neglected, and abandoned in our community! Leo’s previous owner is currently being prosecuted by the Greensburg police. Leo’s story can be found on triblive.com.”
