Carolyn Farrier, a cat lover
“For anyone who knows me, they know that I am a huge cat lover. Don’t get me wrong…I am an animal lover, but I have a special affinity for the feline variety. I have had cats as pets pretty much my entire life. Growing up, my parents tolerated my love of cats (they were not particularly fond of having pets). When I got married, my husband and I immediately added Mandy to our family (yes, my husband is a huge cat lover as well…lucky me). When we adopted Mandy, we were told that she (he) was a female but when we took her (him) to be fixed, well, they had to neuter instead of spaying. Next, we added Maxx (found by a dumpster as a kitten) and throughout our almost 33 years of marriage, we have had a total of 8 fur children, which included Abby, Gabby, Baylee, Luna, Misty and Lily. Mandy, Maxx, Abby, Gabby and Baylee have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and are waiting for us to meet up again there. Our kitty joys/loves of our lives currently are Luna, Misty (whom we adopted from a pet rescue) and Lily (we added Lily to our brood when my husband’s mom went into an assisted living facility). Sadly, one of our fur kids Baylee, was a victim of that horrible funeral director so I don’t have her ashes, but she will always be in our hearts. Our pets/children bring comfort and so much joy to our lives, offer unconditional love, and are one of the best sources of happiness.”
