RAINBOW BRIDGE REMEMBERANCE DAY

Deborah Barnes, an author, and a blogger, originally dedicated August 28th as a day to allow pet owners to share memories of their pets, whether cats, dogs, horses, ducks or even snakes after they have left this earth. A little-known fact about Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is that it is based on a Poem, titled “Rainbow Bridge”.

According to the poem, our beloved pets wait at the Rainbow Bridge before going to heaven. The bridge is surrounded by hills and meadows where the pets can run free and play. Here, pets are happy and restored from old age and illnesses, enjoying time spent with other buddies until the wait is no longer. The interval to be reunited with their owners arrives as they cross the bridge together to the other side.

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day plays a crucial part in your grieving and healing process, which makes it easier to bear your pet’s passing. After the grieving is softened, it can be the time to relinquish your heart to another animal that needs your love and attention. Remember, our pets come into our lives to teach us to love. Their departure teaches about loss. A new pet never replaces a previous pet; it merely expands the heart.
