Pet Spotlight of the Month – December

MOLLY AND RICKI MOODY

“The setting was the annual Mon Valley Paws in the Park and Vendor show in September. Each year the sponsored shelter/rescues bring their information for a meet and greet and sometimes bring adoptable pets. The rest is history! Our eyes met across the crowded park…. 🙂   Drews Crews had several dogs at the Paws in the Park event, and most were puppies. It was then I noticed a little poodle (Molly) cowering in the corner just not wanting to be there. I went over to her, and she actually jumped up to see me. It melted my heart.

I spoke with one of our volunteers, Walter Bennett, and he was kind enough to cover part of the adoption fee so I could bring her home. I took her to a vet for a checkup, and the vet thinks she’s about four and has had a lot of puppies. The shelter says she had never felt grass before, always in a cage, so sad. She is slowly adjusting. You can tell she’s had a hard life. I’m hoping she can adjust in time and have the life she should have had from the beginning. She enjoys her new siblings, Ellie and Buddy!! It is funny they are both 100lb dogs– but she’s in charge!”
