Mon Valley Paws Grants
The below Grants based on need are available to Mon Valley residents or Shelters and Rescues located within the Mon Valley:
- Veterinary Grants which are only available at our sponsoring vets to provide assistance for exams or dental procedures (cleaning and extractions.
- Emergency Vet Care Grants are paid directly to your vet provide assistance for select emergency treatments.
- Shelter and Rescue Emergency Vet Care Grants paid directly to a vet provide assistance for select emergency treatments.
- Fire and Flood Grants help replace supplies that were damaged or lost in a flood or fire.
Community Pet Food and Supplies Distribution
With the help of partnered organizations, Mon Valley Paws distributes donated pet food and supplies to individuals in need at various sites located within the Mon Valley. You can donate items to Mon Valleys at the donation bin inside of Pet Supplies Plus – Belle Vernon.
Current partnered organizations are listed below. You would need to visit or contact them to see what items they currently have available.
- Free Store – Monessen – Saturdays (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM)
- Monessen Family Center – Monday – Friday (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)
- Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene – 2nd Saturday of the month (10:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
- St Andrew the Apostle Church – 2nd Wednesday of the month (10:00 AM to Noon)
Shelters and Rescues
Mon Valley Paws selects 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal shelters and rescues to support through an application process every 2 years. Mon Valley Paws provides support to these rescues to include but not limited to the items listed below.
- At the end of the year a percentage of funds raised by Mon Valley Paws is donated to each partnered organization.
- Pet food and supplies are delivered to the rescues.
- The rescues’ fundraising events are advertised on Mon Vally Paws’ social media sites.
- If requested, Mon Valley Paws volunteers assist the rescue with their largest fundraising event of the year.
