Emergency grants of up to $625 for a sponsoring vet or $500 for a non-sponsoring vet paid directly to the provider will be available within the following limits for pets:
- Owner must live in the Mon Valley.
- An individual can only receive this grant once per calendar year.
- The grant is for one of the reasons listed below:
- Accident by auto vehicle or physical harm by an individual or other animal.
- Emergency treatment due to accidental poisoning.
- Emergency treatment due to ingestion of a foreign substance or object.
- Emergency treatment for Lyme disease.
- Emergency treatment for excessive vomiting/diarrhea, difficulty breathing or refusal to eat.
- Emergency evaluation and treatment of a recently found abandoned dog or cat.
- Grant can’t be used for ongoing medical needs such as medicine, chemotherapy, or other reoccurring treatments.
