The Butler Golf course was the setting for the 4th annual Mon Valley Paws Charity Golf Outing. The weather gods happily kept the rain at bay. The registration volunteers anxiously waited for the team members to arrive. On display were purchasing options such as Mon Valley Paws T-Shirts, 50/50 tickets, golf ball drop chances, a table bursting with gift baskets with many dedicated to golfers and sports, and mulligans were available to put an edge on your scoring. Many team members could be found on the practice putting green trying to win a prize for the best putt. It was exciting to note many faces from past years attended along with plentiful new competitors seeking their chance to compete. Two of our partnered shelter/rescues, Bridge to Home Animal Rescue and Drew’s Crew Wild at Heart Animal Rescue displayed their puppies available for adoptions. They certainly attracted the attention of many. As it neared start time, the golfers went to their assigned carts and at promptly 2 PM the game was on.

Throughout the day the golfers were asked to pose for the camera which they most eagerly obliged. The comments noted from most were positive stating they would be back again next year. During the day refreshments were made available via a portable cart and at the tenth hole, delicious hotdogs and refreshments were offered to tame the hunger pangs.

At the end of the day, the golfers retired to the banquet room to feast on an array of scrumptious food. Winners of the baskets were distributed, and half the take was awarded. The winning golfers were announced and presented their prizes.
A special thanks goes to the Butler Golf Course, Byron Balco, John Kane, and Helen Bergman, and the staff welcoming Mon Valley Paws for another successful and fun filled day. A special nod goes to Jess and Alex for coordinating the whole event. Due to their efforts and all those involved donating their time and relentless energy, it was another successful experience for Mon Valley Paws. See you all again next Year!
