Veterinary Grant
Available to individuals who reside in the Mon Valley area and need assistance paying for an exam or dental procedure (cleaning and extractions).
The grant is only available at veterinary providers who are sponsors of Mon Valley Paws.
For the application can be submitted prior to making an appointment with your vet or at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.
Emergency Vet Care Grant
Emergency grants of up to $625 for a sponsoring vet or $500 for a non-sponsoring vet paid directly to the provider will be available to Mon Valley residents with the following limits for pets:
- Accident by auto vehicle or physical harm by an individual or other animal.
- Emergency treatment due to accidental poisoning.
- Emergency treatment due to ingestion of a foreign substance or object.
- Emergency treatment for Lyme disease
- Emergency treatment for excessive vomiting/diarrhea, difficulty breathing or refusal to eat.
- Emergency evaluation and treatment of a recently found abandoned dog or cat.
Shelter/Rescue Emergency Vet Care Grant
Emergency grants of up to $625 for a sponsoring vet or $500 for a non-sponsoring vet paid directly to the provider will be available to Shelters or Rescues located within the Mon Valley with the following limits for pets:
- Accident by auto vehicle or physical harm by an individual or other animal.
- Emergency treatment due to accidental poisoning.
- Emergency treatment due to ingestion of a foreign substance or object.
- Emergency treatment for Lyme disease
- Emergency treatment for excessive vomiting/diarrhea, difficulty breathing or refusal to eat.
- Emergency evaluation and treatment of a recently found abandoned dog or cat.
Fire/Flood Grant
The grant application is for citizens that reside in the Mon Valley area who have experienced a fire or flood and need assistance replacing items that were destroyed during the qualifying event.
The maximum amount of each grant will be $250 and will be in the form of Pet Supply Plus gift cards. Cards will need to be picked up at the Belle Vernon Pet Supply Plus during normal Mon Valley Paws office hours. You will need a valid ID with the name matching that on the grant application.
